The World Expo is a global event held every five years, bringing together nations to showcase innovation, culture, and solutions to pressing global challenges, attracting millions of visitors from around the world.
In 2020, we partnered with the Asian American Pacific Islanders Coalition of Alaska (AAPICA) and the State of Alaska Division of Economic Development to organize key planning efforts for Alaska’s participation in the World Expo Osaka 2025. Our work began with a pivotal meeting in Anchorage, Alaska, bringing together local and state leaders, followed by an international meeting with the Osaka Prefecture Government, the U.S. State Department, and the U.S. Commercial Trade Service in Japan.
Through these efforts, Alaska became the first U.S. state to engage directly with Osaka officials, advancing discussions to secure space for an Alaskan Pavilion at the World Expo. This initiative underscores Alaska’s leadership and commitment to showcasing its unique culture, economic potential, and innovation on a global stage.
Stay tuned for updates as we continue building toward Alaska’s presence at Expo 2025!
