The Chignik fishery area is on the southern coast of the Lake and Peninsula Borough on the Gulf of Alaska between Kupreanof Point in the east to Kilokak Rocks in the west.
In response to the Chignik Fisheries Economic Disaster, we established a robust project management office to coordinate emergency relief efforts. Leveraging a Smartsheet-based logistics platform, we facilitated the delivery of critical goods and supplies to several remote Alaskan villages, seamlessly integrating emergency relief coordinators and COSTCO warehouse teams across Alaska and Washington State.
Through $1 million in United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) funding, our efforts supported 186 households and 496 individuals, providing much-needed aid during a challenging time. This project highlights the power of strategic coordination and innovative tools in delivering impactful, community-focused solutions.
